"Catholic" is my culture - in the sense that I grew up in a very Catholic family...I've actually met the Pope 2 times...anyhow, I just hope he doesn't suffer long. He has served since 1978 as Pope, and he seems tired.

I am also Catholic and am sad, but if it is his time then it is his time just pray that he goes in peace. KCL, you met the pope 2? you lucky bastard that is going to be one of my future pilgrimages as a Catholic also the one in Spain called El Cambio.

I view this the same way as I viewed Big Fish - the ending isn't sad, it's happy.
This man has given back and lived so well. Eventually his time has to come. I think the only sad thing is if he has to live in pain. I'm sure he has no regrets.

I share a similar view... I am not really sad... as the pope has lived a good life and always been a peaceful man so hopefully he has a peaceful death also. While I may not be the most religious of all people, I still respect the man at least.
