Hey y'all...
I hadn't used my AOL account about a week, cause my computer was down. So I happen to check my mail through AOL webmail... and I have 0 new messages. Which is about impossible cause I at least get spam mail. So I check my old mail... and there are a bunch of e-mails with "PlayersAuction" in the subject... at first I figured iti was some stupid spam scam thing. Turns out some fvcker got into my AOL account and my Paypal account and was "buying" all sorts of crap from this PlayersAuction site for his Everquest character.
What a douche... so I have thus printed up everything and contacted paypal which has launched an investigation and contacted the authorities... so hopefully they catch the little fvck. Luckily for me I only use a prepaid credit card with my paypal account so none of his transactions went through.
I sent an e-mail to one of the guys he bought like $300 worth of stuff from to let him know that it was fraud and that the proper authorities were contacted and his response is that he "finds it hard to believe that that could happen" and still wants payment. Oh well it should all be cleared up hopefully. I should contact the everquest service too... so his character can be traced and banned.
Such is life on the digital highway.

Bastards!! I had my credit card cloned once, but i just thought it was funny. It was one of those credit-rebuilding ones that only have a couple-hundred bucks on 'em... Anyway, I probably only had about $25 left but whoever stole it went and kept trying to charge for things all over the place. The company called me up and asked if I've been trying to use my cards at whatever locations, and I said - NO - I KNOW I don't have any money on that thing. Chump couldn't buy a bag of groceries with it, nor a tank of gas, then goes and tries it at Armani Exchange and gets busted.

Sorry to hear abou that Sijuki. At least you totally played it right with PayPal.
I recommend to EVERYONE that you NOT give PayPal access to your regular credit card, debit card, or checking account. There are way too many horror stories to make me feel comfortable every using PayPal again - www.paypalsucks.com
Best of luck Sijuki.

If people use your credit card for transactions that you didn't actually sign for, you can dispute them and almost always win.
Because of the fact that you did not physically sign your signature, they can't prove that you were the one to actually have authorized the transaction. But it could be a lengthy process to recover your money.
This is what I've been told anyways.

Yeah, luckily the card didn't have any money on it... so he didn't get anything. But I get account protection, and luckily over the internet they usually record your IP address... so if he did get anything hopefully it is like in Nebraska or something and so they would be able to figure out that I couldn't be in Nebraska and Michigan all at the same time.

It's an online game... basically you pay a monthly fee to play it. Its a virtual world. Kind of like a D&D game. Yeah it takes a long time.

I had my CC number stolen on-line once. The CC company put a block on my account because of unusally high internet usage...so next time I used it...it was denied. I called them up, they asked me about certain purchases.....I told them they were not mine. They did an investigation, credited my card pretty quickly, canceled my card and sent me a new one in a couple of days. Piece of cake. Where they can quickly figure out it is not you is when stuff is sent to an address that is not the same as your registered billing address. There was no real hassle to go through....which is cool. I do not worry too much about it because you are protected with a CC.

Well I guess the investigation is over as Paypal sent me an e-mail today telling me my account is back to full capacity and everything has been taken care of. I don't know any result of a criminal investigation or anything... but hopefully the young lad learns their lesson.
