Being an Ebay whore, I went to ebay to find a backpack...also cheaper I figure. I've been reading the other posts on packs, but they all seem to be 100+, and I was hoping to score something cheaper.
Do any of these packs seem like they would do?

I know they might be top loading, but I figure I can forgo the convenience for the price...thanks again all

the backpacker is all about saving money. We eat cheap food, drink cheap beer and sometime stay in shit holes..we might even sleep in a train station. But in my experiences, the only thing a backpacker should not skimp on, is the backpack. Getting a backpack that either isn't right for you, isn't waterproof, too big, too small, or anything else, can make your entire trip(which was quite a monetary investment) a complete waste. If your pack doesn't fit right or doesn;t have sufficient padding you will end up with pains that can make your trip awful. I can't tell by the descriptions of those packs, what they might offer, but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I spent about 200 on mine, and my friend spent over 300 on his, there are more expensive, and cheaper, but in the 2 months we have been doing this, no pains, no leaks, and really easy to adjust. I don't want to sound like a nag but i would highly recommend getting a bag that is fit for you and has all the features you think you might want. Just my .02 cents

I took a look at both packs...To be honest with you its a tost up between the two...its really hard when you are buying "no name" packs because you can't research them. If you are trying to save money, I would try finding a good pack that you can make sure is what you want, research it, and then find it on sale online.
I must warn you though, my opinion is based on the fact that I am a gear nerd. I research gear like its going out of style.

Thanks to both of you!! =) I'll check out some more of the sites that have been listed on here. I have to admit I was a little suspicious of the ebay ones after reading some of you spent around $200 on your backpacks...I had a hard time believing I'd found so many good deals on ebay...

I have a Dana Design pack - they are awesome in my opinion, and I've used lots of different packs. I prefer the Arc Series packs, but there adventure series are more versitile...
Check out this link for Far Flung on Sale for $99!!!!
Or the Swift Traveler. It has about 1000 cu.in more of space and it has a built in duffle for when you put it under the plane. Its also listed here for under $130 (its usually around $300).
I hope you find the perfect pack!
