So here we go. How's about we all coordinate a day where everyone....or as many people as possible on this site go out and buy a lottery ticket. We then pledge, that should we win, we will donate one miiiiiillion dollars(puts pinky on lip) to the development and production of Travelpunk, i.e.: producing a travel book, meet up costs, convention stuff.....

Maybe we could do this once a week or once a month...I think everyone here could afford to cough up 4 bucks a month for "member fees" couldn't they?

it's a brillant idea if everyone would stick to it, which i don't see happening since we are all travel-hungry fools that are trying to scrap together every buck we can to do so. i just see everyone pledging and then one person wins and just not telling anyone.

how would anyone know?

i think that dues would be a better idea...maybe voluntary dues so we don't discourage any new-comers and you know that the die-hard people would pay up.

Tony already shot down the monthly payment thing so I was trying to get creative and figured lotto tickets would be more fun. Besides, if TPunk wins, that means someone got stupid rich and can afford to pay for a meet up.....uhh....or something

If we did pay dues and invest I could manage the money. I currently work for an invesment advisory firm and I control roughly 10 mil usd of other people's money. I am will to provide my services free of charge to tp. I am also a writer so I would also be willing to help out with a travel book too. Just a couple thoughts

Rob (sij) and I were talking about a meet-up for the mods and recognized. There are alot of us that do not know eachother and we were thinking a weekend somewhere would be a good idea to get everyone and brainstorm and whatnot.

We know that most people's schedules are all different so we want to plan it way in advance. Then we could bring all our ideas to the table. With paperwork, figures, flow charts and whatnot to back it up.

Just some thoughts.

there's pretty much no way in hell that that mod/recog meet up is gonna happen for coachella but the original plan is still in place.

Anyone who cares to join us on Apr30,and May1 for the concert is welcome. If you need a place to stay, I offer my place as long as your willing to make the 1.5 hour drive there and back twice. I'm gonna be driving so you just have to sit.....I also work in 2 bars within walking distance of where my new pad will be and will get hooked up on drinks.

Sooo..........come on down to LA, it rules.

LA is out for me. way too expensive to fly there....new york I'd consider.
