Ok, so this post has nothing to do with that song.

I came home last night and was just hanging out when my landlord's (adult) grandson comes down and knocks on the door, asking if I smell anything burning. I don't, so he just shrugs and takes off, not being the genial type - he must take after his grandfather.

Just about an hour and a half later, I hear a big commotion, people running up and down the stairs to the upstairs unit, and firetrucks roaring up to the house. I look out the window and see this:

Three firetrucks, about 20 firefighters, a big hose up the stairs... turns out the bathroom upstairs in the landlord's house was on fire. A big thanks for them not coming down to TELL us. Luckily, I guess it wasn't big enough to spread... but we have a nice water stain coming down the wall of our hallway now - but no further water damage.

Oh, and they had to spend some time tearing out the burnt parts of the bathroom, and they must've knicked a pipe, because my unit's hallway (just below that bathroom) smelled like some sort of septic ass juice until early this morning.

So now my hallway smells somewhat like butt and the front of the house is littered with burnt pieces of bathroom that smells like a mixture of plastic, chemicals, and smoke.

Anyone wanna come visit!?

Man, that is crazy. Lucky the whole place didn't burn down.

Hell yeah, I am there, the burned out look will remind me of detroit.

While my landlord himself can be a bit clueless due to senility, I'm fairly certain the people he has around are plain DUMBASSES.

Sorry about the bulding and the smells, but man take advantage of it and get some money knocked off of your rent.

Hey I'll come visit you, I think I have a gas mask stashed somewhere around here...*digs*

Septic ass juice!

...now I have a new description phrase for...really stinky. "Open ass" will have to be retired.

I feel for ya, man.... (septic ass juice indeed)... I'm in one of those countries that you can navigate by smell alone, so I feel your pain....

Nice to know the landlord cares enough to evacuate the place..

I was relegated to drinking some septic ass juice the other day cuz my options were so depleted.

I believe they call it Coor's Light.

Not sure though, that could be some language foreign to me meaning septic ass juice.

Omi, did they ever figure out what started the fire? I mean, in the bathroom? Was someone liting their farts or something?

They told the neighbors (not US) yesterday that it was probably an electrical fire... Now i believe that if it goes by the version that I heard that the fire started in the medicine cabinet.. but the SFFD folks had mentioned that it started in the wastebasket.. which makes me think that the landlord's grandson was smokin' a J in the bathroom and threw the roach in the trash. That's my theory, at least.
