Okay......in all likelihood among many people's dream is to find that ultimate paradise island (in part inspired by a particular Alex Garland aha...) , lookie what I've found:
an uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean called Clipperton Island:
Just look at that, man. The lagoon/lake is wild. Hugh Hefner would've been proud of its geography...
With a total land of 6 sq. km, it's large enough for a resort.
Now I'm thinking Travel Punk can start a small donation and buy this dang thing from the French, whose terrtorial *rights* belong to.
With a tropical climate, coral reefs surrounding many parts of this island, and - get this - 115 different species of fish that has been identified as its only natural resource, this baby is begging to be the next Club Med!
Now all we need to do is get a few Dutchmen/Japanese to build a wall to defend itself from tsunamis.

there are actually a bunch of differents islands you can buy...of course they are expensive as a hell....but I always thought it would be cool to pull money with people to buy one. i then realized my measly chump change would do no good, but hey, when im 296 i may have enough to pitch in

Alright, I've got... $2.56, pocket lint, a Wal Mart receipt, some gum and a canceled credit card - I'm so in.
Oooh, though the movie was kinda weird like you said, I loved the Beach just cuz it was sooo pretty to watch (and no, I'm not talking about Leo).
