Hey i'm new to this whole thing so i really hope someone can help me.

I'm planning on going to the UK with a friend of mine in late october/early november. We're planning on doing the whole backpacking/ hostel stay thing...well, because we're poor

So anycrap, we were thinking of maybe taking a couple of days to go to Dublin from.. maybe Liverpool? (though its flexible) and i was wondering if anyone could tell me the best and cheapest way to do this.

I've been googling things and talked to travel agents and all i've been told is to 'take a ferry' but i have no idea how or when to even book one.

Please Help!

peace, jenn

im doing a similar trip though I will be in london, so I am using a cheap flight to get there(ireland), but since you are on the west coast while in liverpool the ferry is the way to go, or so i have heard. its spose to be pretty fun. i am not sure how to book one, but if you search the crap out of the main tpunk page im sure there will be mucho useful info.

ok you get a ferry from liverpool, belfast, hashem (i think belfast) and a boat to dunleirghy from holyhead (anglesea, North wales) dunlerghy is a 7 min fast train trip to dublin for £5

and if you book far enough in advance you may be able to get dirt cheap airline ticket
