First thing, Just wanted to say this website rocks.... lots of cool info and good links to help plan my trip..

Ok now for my question. I am trying to figure out which flight I should take. I am planning on spending a month in europe and go visit paris, rome, venice, athens, berlin and possibly dublin. I figured i can get to all these spots with a eurorail flexipass.

Now looking that the flights I can save about $200 by flying into london instead of paris. and then i can take the eurostar from london to paris. now with the eurorail pass I should get a discount on the eurostar ticket. Thing is I am unsure of how much of a discount i would get with the eurostar and with going for the cheap ticket ($60) buying round trip is about the same amount to fly in to paris.

I know alot of people try to save as much money as possible when traveing so what I am wondering is it worth it to go to london look around and then take the eurostar to paris for my trip or is it just better to spend the extra money and go directly to paris. Also anyone know how much of a discount you can get on the eurostar ticket when you have a eurorail pass ?

Another option you can use here is possibly RyanAir.com or EasyJet.com. Flights thru them are dirt cheap so if its worth while I would fly into London and catch RyanAir flights to Paris and Dublin. I got my flight for this coming summer from Rome to Paris for 30 euro. That sure beats a 20 hour train ride. Eurostar is faster than the plane but cost is a factor here. I think its $75 (each way) for the eurostar train from london to Paris for railpass holders. RyanAir is based in London/Ireland so it may be the cheapest. Look into all three for your specific dates and good luck!
