Knowing that I would be gone for a year (until next November or so) I found a friend who was willing to take care of my macaw until I could come back for her (I could be extended involuntarily for an additional year, too)

Now that I'm on the opposite end of the globe, my friend has broken up with her husband, moved in with her brother, and discovered he's not a pet lover.

Although Cricket (my macaw) was raised with my children (hell, she's certain she's one of the kids) and is quite well-mannered, people are still nervous about having a three-year-old with a built-in pair of bolt cutters hanging around their house.

I'm wondering if any Pacific N.W. TravelPunks could point me to someone trustworthy? I pay for her upkeep, and I certainly would be heartbroken if I had to give her up.

Thanks guys!

I'm in Seattle. Now, I'm not saying right off the bat that I'll do it, but I do like birds and I've done some bird-sitting before. What exactly is involved though?
