I'm thinking about teaching overseas. I'm a second grade teacher in the US. Most teaching jobs I have found are volunteer only, and I need a little money. Has anyone done it?

I was about to.
check out Dave's ESL cafe It's mainly about teaching english, which is more than likely your best bet anyway.

i almost taught english in korea, but just a warning, research it to deah, and be aware that most teaching positions will require a year contract.

i taught english on an under the table sort of job in Budapest but the pay wasnt that great about $10 an hour

That's not bad, really. We are used to shitty pay. I don't know any other languages, but I am ESL endorsed.

Look into teaching in Japan or Thailand. Having experience, your degree plus the certification should assist you in getting a job in pretty reputable school. if you get a good gig in Japan, you should be able to get accomadation, transportation, vaca allowances etc plus a decent wage (they have a much lower cost of living). If you search online you should be able to find some good info. Just a suggestion.
