Donīt know if this is standard info, but since my cousin told me this years ago, I do it all the time.
When you check in for your flight, ask the person at the counter for a seat in the "Emergency row." Thatīs the row in the middle of the plane that has those emergency doors.
Why that row, you ask? Itīs because you get massive leg room. That isle has to be extra wide for that massive rush of people in case the plane has to make an emergency evacuation at an airport or what not.
The people sitting on that row, like me, in theory, should help facilitate the evacuation. Itīs never happened, and I pray that it never will
Ask for that seat and youīll have ample room to stretch and walk and you wonīt have to bother your seat mates to move so you can take a trip to the bathroom B) .
On that note, ask for an isle seat too and youīll have quicker access to the baņo and for exiting the plane.

yeah great tip! however that only works on international flights and I wouldnt recommend it for domestic because most domestic flights have seats facing each other in those rows and they are VERY close so you have to spend the duration of your flight staring at the gigantic mole on the face of the man staring at you, and in some cases for several hours. just a thought.

I wasnīt aware of it only working on only international flights. But I have flown Southwest airlines many times and that does suck about the two rows facing each other.
Whatīs up with that jacked-up design

oops! your right TP! let me rephrase that folks...It may not be the difference in international flights and domestic but to use this to get space make sure its the right kind of plane. When it is a 747 or something like that it can make economy seem like business (well not quite) but for me being 6-2 its a phat on the go.

Ahhh...makes sense now. I think Southwest as well as many other discount airliners are predominantly stocked with 727īs, which means crawl spaces, soda, and peanuts <_< . Hey, if itīs cheap, Iīm on it
