I'm looking to spend 3 months hanging out in belgium (much time in belgium), france, germany and italy. staying in hostles and checking out the best breweries and bars.
Will $5000usd be enough? its certainly enough to get me through three months here in the states. what kind of expenses am i going to face? i hope i'll be able to cook a couplefew of my meals in these hostles.

I think that should be enough if you're not counting for example a eurail pass and of course plane ticket out of that money. If you try to be frugal in the beginning to play it safe, you could realize you have much more than enough and you can splurge towards the end. And you can always try and stay with people on websites like globalfreeloaders.com or couchsurfing.com
