Okay, I am leaving in a month or so to study abroad in Paris. I'm an architecture student and will have an apartment in Paris. The nice thing is that I have thurs nights through sunday nights of every weekend to travel. I have looked at books and many websites, but I am still having a hard time figuring out a good itinerary, or deciding to go without it....
And is it really that easy to get cheap flights over there? I like the idea of the Eurail pass, but I'm going to be there for 9 months, not exactly the best option.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'd like to hear from people who went on study abroad trips.

Welcome to the boards, folks!
Westie, sounds like you got it made with a schedule like that! I´m not really sure about discount carriers originating from France, but Air France is the major carrier based in Paris. You might want to have a look at what kind of deals can be found there.
Individual train or bus passes can also be an option if you´ll be traveling on the fly.
Also, look for a USIT student travel office. There´s one a coule of them there, I used it-just can´t remember the name of the location, and they can give you a good idea of all the cheap flights.
g´luck!

One of the joys of being in Paris, like London it is a major hub to so many other destinations, 3 day trips to so many places should not be a problem.
Just go stand-by or contact a discount flight agency and they will be a able to help you. The thing about whirlwind trip like that, and the one I am taking at the end of this month, you do not get to appreciate the country side, ttime will pretty much allow only the sights and sounds of major cities, which is not a bad thing by anymeans, its sometimes nice to have a change of pace once and a while.
