My parents phone me today and informed me that my pet Budgie Cuba had died. I've never lost anyone that I've been really close to before this and I see now how hard it truley is... I know he was just a bird, but to me he was so much more. He was probably my closest friend and I already miss him more than I can say. He was only 5 years old, but he had the grumpiness of an old man and I loved it. Don't ever take friends for granted. Even small feathered ones, cause when they go you'll never find someone who can ever replace them.

I'm sorry. I know how you feel, my dog was the first thing I ever lost close to me. She died while I was away at school, it had been about 3 months since I had seen her last and she was in great health then. Sort of served as a warm up for losing both of my grandfathers shortly thereafter as well. Made for a weird couple of months.

Ditto...losing a pet is so sad.
You wonder how much they understood of why you weren't there when they went. Did they feel like you abandoned them? It's not like losing a human being, because they know where you are and that you love them (even if you're not there).
My dog died one evening while I was off playing softball then partying one evening. I knew he'd gone to the vet, but figured I'd have a chance to visit him the next day. Somedays, I can still feel that pain of not visiting him, to be with him, on his last evening. It feels like betrayal, although I know that's silly. I loved him for the 13 years of his life...one evening can't cancel that out. It still hurts though...
Hang in there, MG!

aw, sorry to hear bout your pet MolsonGirl
my dog passed away while i was playing with her outside, she got hit by a car and was probably the worst thing that i've gone through so far! its funny how connected you can get with a pet and how much they become a part of your life and the way they seem to "notice" how YOUR feeling?
*hugs* mg

molson... I can understand how you are feeling... but have no fears. my time in brasil is coming to a close fast due to my not having any cash (thats not a problem in our relationship is it) and I will be going back to north america within the week. Please save all crying on shoulders for my arrival.
Much love.
Your fiance,
Jake

I'm so sorry about your loss, molson girl. I hate losing pets. It's a double edged sword-- they make us happy but also they always break our hearts.
