Thumbs down

Well after almost one whole year of being on this forum I have attained my master chief status....o happy day.........

so, this is my 300th post ........here it goes.........

Throughout this past year I have changed a lot........I was revived by the joy of experiencing new cultures and reminded that there is so much greatness out there in the wide and vast world......

For my whole life I have lived in the same city.... I have traveled a lot and consider my self relatively cultured (which is quite obvious..but not to be meant as conceit in any manner), however I have only been away for the maximum of 4 weeks at a time (excluding my 2 month back packing venture this past summer).......

The point I am getting at is I have in some ways been trapped in a life fullfulling obligations that were placed upon my shoulders in result of my mothers death.....and have been quite distressed and stressed.........Recently my epiphany came forth and I realized that this world is my playground and thus I have decided to venture forth and rid myself of this small town drear and American obsolescence....

My new life will begin in a study abroad program in Tokyo begining in early January......I am going from a town of 250,000 to over 12 million.........a completely different language......a completely different culture.......and I will have absolutely no familiarity there.........no previous friends, family, ect. I am very excited and nervous but I know that this will be the true begining of Phase II in the life of Adam Kaye.........

Instead of becoming a drone achieving for Financial power I shall become a nomad striving to find my true calling...............I do not plan on ever living in this city, Tallahassee, FL ever again and for that matter I do not forsee myself returning to America for many years........

Any many ways the contents of this site and the members providing the content has changed my life and helped inspire me to take this leap of faith.......Thank you all very much and know that you all have been apart in changing my life in a vicarious manner.......If there is anything I can ever do for anyone on this site please let me know.......

That's awesome! Definitely an inspiring post Adam. I am trying to decide where in Asia to study for a semester either next fall or spring 2006 and am thinking about Tokyo so you'll have to fill me in!
