Scotland & Ireland

Guys, if things go balls up, im going to try and wing it up to scotland and then fly to ireland and try and get a quick feel for these two countries, probably in a 2week period. Obviously Edinburgh and Dublin are definates, but need a couple more places to visit in each country, eg: smaller town with great locals, must see sites, etc, etc...

Ideas on anything and everything needed, and will be greatly appreciated.

My favorite part of Scotland was the highlands and west islands -- particularly the Hebrides. Mull was my favorite, followed by Skye. Great scenery, cool historical sights, and friendly folks!

I am in Scotland right now and I have nothing but great things to say about it. Glasgow is great. Very Underground scene. I was blown away by Isle Of Skye!!! I have never seen anything like it. A must on any excursion. Plan at least 2 -3 days there. I am in Edinburgh now and love it. As for Ireland, Dublin is definately a must. I also went to Galway, which is a little to much. But a good see. Good luck

hey, i'm leaving for dublin in two weeks time, so if you've been there already could I please please please get some good advice (meaning the prices first and foremost...of beer, food etc.) It would mean a lot cause I got a lotta planing to do, moneywise that is.

YO Oz, just wandering what loose calculations you came up when crunching the numbers for a two week period in those countries. I ,along with a few other spots, am considering maybe 3 weeks to a month in the same countries. It's just in the initial consideration stages so I have yet to ponder what a realistic budget might be.

My vote is for Edinburgh and Dublin and BElfast if you make it up that way...but like WWM said, The HIghlands should be at the top of the list for sure..I am still kicking myself fo missing that
