Hi, everyone.
I'm in week five of a backpacking trip (which has been completely amazing), and I just got an offer to do a decent-sized contract for a former employer. This means I'm going to take about two weeks during my trip and find myself someplace to work for a while....which basically means, I need suggestions for a cool place to stay/visit for about two weeks. These are the conditions:
- a cool city, especially with a good nightlife
- a hostel in which I can get a room for relatively cheap
- a city that has coffeeshops with wireless internet (even if pay) that won't mind me sitting for four/five/six hours at a time and doing work
- an interesting place to be for at least 14 days
Eastern or Western Europe is fine - I'm headed back to Eastern Europe eventually, so if there's someplace specific that's cool, inexpensive, and fun, I'll check it out, but Western Europe is fine, too.. I've already done Croatia, Italy, the Netherlands, Britain and Germany, so those are out.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron

Aaron,
Well if you are looking for one of the best night life in Europe then you need to get down to the South of Spain. They have the 3 largest clubs in the entire world down there. When I was there I had no issues finding an internet connection. Just make sure to pack you pack with more aspirin than you ever have for any other trip, last call is never. Drinking till 9am is common place down there and a lot of fun. Now if cheap is a way to go you may want to check out Budapest. I loved it, everything is cheap but the night life is not as good as western Europe. I hope you have a great time!!!

I second Crious' suggestion. Not only is the nightlife absolutely insane in Spain, places like Barcelona are extremelly proud of how wired they are. Even some of the tiny little shops run by someone's grandparents had internet access, flash media readers, CD-Rs etc.
Still, in just about any major european city, you'll find internet cafes with hotspots. For instance, I'm a T-mobile, customer, so I know I have hotspots all over the UK, Austria, Germany, and Czech Repub... Shouldn't be too difficult - just find a cool city and you should be able to telecommute.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I hit up Spain just because I wanted to see it and, you're right, it's absolutely amazing. I head to Budapest on Thursday and will see if I like it enough to settle there for a month or so. Thanks again!
