I was just made aware of a huge scam today, I don't know if you guys know about it yet, but it might help you decide which companies NOT to deal with. Priceline.com is the company that let's you "name your price" on flights. You think you are paying $600 for a flight from Point A to Point B, and then when your credit card bill comes in, you owe double if not triple of that to Priceline! I guess this company is in major trouble and are trying to make up for it by screwing over budget travellers! Watch out guys!

Crio, I have used this service as have a few of my friends without a problem. I put a bid from LA to Paris, France for $350 and I paid a total of $418, but certainly not double the amount of my bid! Yikes! The extra amount was for overseas taxes and all that other crap. Thatīs rather normal for airlines and agencies to add those types of taxes and extra fees when you buy a plane ticket in general. To me that was a bargain!
My only note was that you couldnīt fly home from a different airport than that of which you landed in (Paris in my case). I wanted to fly into Paris and out of Madrid, even if it was extra.

Now this was all 3 years ago, but I havenīt heard of anything irregular from friends that regularly use their services.

Has anyone had any problems with Priceline- first hand? Please let us know

yeah, it's only been recent i guess. I dunno, I wouldn't be willing to risk it. I guess they've been doing this "name your price" too long and they are in financial hell.
