Well folks, it looks like I have found a contact in Southern Spain, so thats where I am heading, fly into Lisbon and take the train into Spain...Thanks for all your help folks!!!!!!

Dude, awesome! Southern Spain will be quite festive in August and youŽre sure to have a great time! Make sure you give us the play by play when youŽre there  WeŽll all live vicariously through you and want to hear all about the wild parties, drinking contests, and new guerilla backpacking tips

Hey CD, If you are still in Spain During the end of august, I recommend you go check out the tomatina (tomato festival) that festival is of the hook! I went last year, and I had a blast.

Yeah, my girlfriends bro works for the tv station in Madrid and went there to film a segment. He said it was crazy! Nothing but party all day all night.
But I forgot what city that was in

the city is Bunol. It's about an hour away from Valencia on train.

I wouldn't hurry off to southern Spain if I were you not until you spend at least a few days on Portugal's Algarve coast at Albafeira (sp?). Fantastic little spot. The Botanical Gardens in Lisbon were quite impressive also with over 100 varieties of palm trees.
Also perfetc timing for San Fermin if you hurry. Has anyone else been to Pamplona to run with the bulls? FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!

Thx for the info Phil, but my flight is booked already, into Amsterdam out of Belfast...I could not get a cheap flight to Spain or Portugal from Toronto... 
No worries though, i will have a blst anyway!!
