It is never a huge problem of what I didn't pack to leave.....it is always what I forgot to pack and left somewhere.......on a train.......in a hostel

yeah, I second that... I left my sleep sheet in a shitty hostel in Montpellier, France. The only good thing about it was that it freed up some room in my bag and I didn't really end up needing it for the rest of the trip. But still!

Yep, just this weekend after getting back from rafting I realized I left my swimsuit and boardshorts on the dry-line. Now to convince myself that 'they were getting too small anyways'...
I didn't have a problem forgetting to bring stuff, but alot of my friends were angry they didn't bring a plastic bag to put their wet clothes in. So if you're taking a short trip and plan on getting wet (as in with water..naughty naughty), plastic grocery bags are your friend.

I went to London and Italy for 3 weeks and in the trip from London to Italy, I left my Italian guide book in London.....I ran around the Uffizi Gallery in Florence looking for Michaelangelo's David cuz I thought I heard somewhere that it was there....well its not....damnit, maybe this time

when I was partying in Zurich, I left my sunglasses in the hostel after I left, sure needed them that day.

I always forget a hairbrush! I've done it probably four times: a 4-day trip to Canada, 3-weeks in Europe, 7-days at the Jersey Shore and 7-days in Outer Banks. I think its the stuff you don't really think about that you forget.

Also I left my camera in my hotel room when I went into the Black Forest in Germany. It was so beautiful and I have no pictures to show for it. It actually came in handy though because I was down to my last roll of film in France my last day so I'm glad I didn't use two rolls in Germany and miss the pictures of Paris.
