*Update*
After a two year hiatus, the Love Parade is now back on. cnn
Thought I would post this here for anyone planning on going. Apparently they lost status as a demonstration and thus have no money to put it on.
official website
They hold them all over Europe now and I plan on going to the one in Zurish Switzerland on the 7th of August. Its too bad the original got canned though.

Hehe, I think gaijin means 'foreign barbarian' or something similar, in Japanese. Although alien would make sense too. Too bad, I didnt make it to any love parades last summer or even Zurich for that matter.

Well, there's always the San Francisco version, put on by the same folks as the OG loveparade in Berlin... This year's was pretty cool & interesting, if not nearly as big and overwhelming as the European versions. Still, it's nice to see it stateside...

the love parade in germany was definately something that everyone should have experience, i am from california, and traveled half way around the world to see it. I also live right next to San Fransisco, where they held the love parade last year. I must add that it was in no comparisson to berlin. i think a lot of peple were unsure/confused about what was going on and why the party was being moved, but hey- it was still a great party, but not as big and as diverse as love parade, berlin. then again- maybe i am just fond of foreign things.

the love parade got cancelled, because the main sponsor(samsung) pulled out and the city wouldn´t pay for the cleaning up, because the organizers make millions out of it and are not willing to pay 500.000 for the cleaning up
gaijin=(man from abroad) often refered to in a bad scence
p.s.: it´s Zürich

Anyone else going to this? I know it's real close to the Running of the Bulls but it looks like a killer party.

Im going to try to. I think its the 15 of July, like a day after the running of the bulls. As long as its on a weekend, I think I can make it. With the World Cup going at at the same time, its going to packed in Berlin so looks like it might be another "sleeping in the park" event.
