Ok, i plan on traveling over the Europe in June/July. But I dont want to scream American!! so i have read no baseball hat or tennis shoes. What would be a good atire to wear while i am over there. I dont want to bust the bank on buying all dress clothes that I wouldnt be able to wash for days on ends. So my question is what should i wear? what did some of you guys wear on your adventures. I guess justa broad overal answer would be good..

bring a few polo's (i'm assuming you're male) and a pair of navy blue khakis... you'll be all good.
also, a pair of dark brown shoes/hikers would work as double duty.

Just one thing on the "I don't want to scream American" part.
They are going to know you are a tourist anyway, so don't let this bug you too much. Bring what is comfortable, you are going in the summer so pack light clothes, clothes that breath.
You'll be fine, don't let being spotted as a tourist bug you. The lost look on your face will probably give it away.

Someone was saying that brown shoes are not acceptable in certain situations, like clubs with dress codes. Is that really the case? I've got a pair of brown New Balances and I was gonna get some in a similar style, but black. Is that necessary or is brown ok too? Im not going to be bringing two pairs of shoes, so these need to be able to get me into places as well as be functional for hiking.

Maybe you don't mind being seen as a tourist, but don't want to be instantly identifiable as an American? A collared shirt, some of those convertible pants (that zip off to shorts) and some leather sandals (with socks! for restaurants/more dressy) should get you through most situations without too much trouble and are versatile enough to be worth the room in your bag. Lv the Cubs cap at home, if you need a hat, consider a leather (Indiana Jones) type or a Tilley. Don't see many young guys wearing hats round about the city, but if you want something for hiking, those are good styles.

Many questions have I....
What's this I see about clubs requiring dress codes? Exactly what kind of clubs are these? (I'm from Indiana, we don't have clubs...we have a bowling alley )
How can you pack all these types of shoes??
Oh...yeah, I wear a size 15...that may be why I'm confused.
I've seen some sites say you should always bring a dress shirt and khakis for restaurants. Are Europeans really uptight about that kind of stuff? Like for street side cafes and the such, whats the dress code.
No tennis shoes? Wtf?
Are combat boots ok??

I almost have to bring my Yankees hat with me, it's old and beat up and somewhat an extension of myself. perhaps I don't want to scream that I am American but I also don't want to be affraid to be an American. I don't always wear the hat but there are times i NEED it.........Other hat guys understand.

You'll probably get offers for your Yankees hat! My husband's a hat guy, so I do understand! He bought some locally, at a second hand store, even, to fit in more with the locals.

Well, June/July is going to be pretty hot still, so you'll probably be wearing shorts and t-shirts.
Overall, stick with light-breathable, cotton and/or wrinckle-free, fabrics. Choose a few darker colors for going out in the evenings. Black double duty hiking shoes are best.
Yes, they will know you're a tourist, but it won't hurt to be a tourist with a sense of style, rather than stick out like a nail...
