Hey, the name Ninja just popped into my head, because after all, those fish will fight if given the opportunity.
Random story: I had a beta fish when I was young, and I woke up one morning and when I looked at the bowl he was in, he was gone. Then, I happen to see a purplish blob on the carpet....the thing committed suicide by jumping out. This was a little disturbing for an 8 year old  Apparently, this is not that uncommon for them to do. So, either keep a cover on the jar or something, and feed the thing less than you think it needs so it doesn't have an excuse to want to jump out!!!!!!! (I swear I wasn't feeding it that much though, seriously!)

I think you should name him Flipper.
I used to have prianhas and one of them was named Flipper lol
Its a good name for a fish that eats other fish

I had a Beta once... I told the guy the other fish I had at the time, and he told me the Beta would eat all my other fish because they were mean and aggressive. So bought him anyways. Well I didn't have that thing two weeks and my lil red tailed shark ate him. There was gobbled Beta all over my tank. I was rather disappoointed that a fish that has such a reputation for being a big bad mother got toasted so easily.  My ret tailed shark never bothered any of the other fish, just that Beta, they must have gotten into it one day.
But name him Bob.
