Hey guys, I am new to the site and I just wanted to say THANKS THANKS THANKS so much because it the best travel site I have ever seen that is geared for backpackers/adventurers/anyone!!! I have read some of the messages boards and links, and have gotten really useful info and everyone here seems awesome! Just today, I got a message from Tecia as soon as I posted the first time and felt totally welcome (Granted, she thought I was someone else but still!!!!!!!!) Keep up the good work and hope to chat/post with everyone really soon before I head to Espana in a couple weeks!!!! Take care and thanks again!
Ok, I love these smileys...some of them are just so random!

Spain, eh? Whereabouts are you headed?
I love Spain and have had a blast both times I've been there...

Hey Mike, I am starting in Paris, then going down to Nice or Cannes and traveling along the Riviera into Barcelona, then basically making a big counterclockwise loop around Spain and into Portugal, and ending in Pamplona before I head back to Paris to come home. And somewhere along the way darting into the middle to catch Toledo and Madrid. 2 months, most of it in Spain, so hopefully I'll be able to see a ton?!? Anything in particular you'd recommend?

Well, my favorite town in Spain is Segovia (which you can do as a day trip from Madrid). Lots of history there...
Speaking of Madrid, those boys stay out ALL NIGHT LONG. I don't think I've run into a hardier set of partiers than the Madrid-lenos! And another weird thing if you don't speak Spanish: The further away you get in Spain from Madrid, the more willing people are to help you. In Madrid (the capital of Spain, which has been a pilgram/tourist destination for 1000 years), even the hotel owners pretend they don't understand English, or Italian, or whatever. I call it the Paris Effect. "Our language is an international language -- I don't need to know any other!"
However, I highly recommend southern Spain: Granada, Toledo, etc. Lots of history, Moorish architecture and gorgeous scenery. Sounds like you have a nice plan going, though.
