Ok... After all this time in Central America, Im finally getting my ass to El Saly... Ive got a fair amount of info, and of course have talked to TONS of other backpackers... But thought I might as well hit up my Tpunk friends and see what you think... AND JILL, Ive still got all that amazing advice from you, so disregard this thread, unless of course you have more knowledge...
So yeah, Im probably starting in El Tunco in the beginning of July... No plans, no timeline, other than needing to find a job along the way...
So, hostels, cool off the gringo trail places... Im probably going to spend most of my time on the beaches... Ive seen enough of inland Central America to last a lifetime... But I do know there are some amazing inland places in El Saly, so no grief!!! jaja

I would go to the pyramids! My favorite one is "Las Ruinas de San Andrés" followed up by Tazumal and Casa Blanca.
While you're in El Salvador, make sure you try the "Pupusas" I guarantee that you will love them!
