"Roughing It" -- Minimum needed to travel
I'm really pushing the plans to go to Europe. With work and all, I can get about 9... 10 days. I think I will fly in to Rome (although Madrid is a possibility, flight price may sway me). But I am looking for the minimum stuff you would need for 10 days. I seriously would like to get by with just a normal backpack.
I remember before that the common thing in Europe was that people do not wear shorts, and pants are more accepted. Is this the case?
In hostels, what is the accessibility of washing clothes...
I travel pretty light anyways, so it doesn't like it would be that much of a stretch to make it a week in Europe. I packed 7 days worth of clothes for LV in my backpack.
I would also look for a Ryanair jaunt somewhere else in Europe too.
I know Marc has input on this

You are fucking right I have a comment!! jaajaja.... 10 days equals, 3 tshirts, 2 pairs of pants and a couple pairs of underwear if you wear them... As for washing clothes, do it in the shower if you are going to be in the same place for 2 nights....
Honestly, if it were me for just 10 days, it would be a pair of jeans, NO tennis shoes, as then you would look like an american, and a couple shirts I would wash as I go... Or, I would just wear the same shirt for 5 days, then change to the other shirt for the last 4-5 days....

If you can't fit it into a carry on bag then you don't need it. Just bring some smart yet casual shirts. If you're going in summer I would wear some non dorky (don't ask me what this means haha) shorts for comfort. Because it gets hot as hell.

I can definitely dig the light packing, although I would probably bring a couple extra socks and underwear. But sounds good, that will be my plan then.
Now I just need a decent flight. I actually found one for Rome that works, I just don't have the money right now. But hopefully soon.
