Default More countries than states....ummm

Anyone else have this issue? I just got back from the Oshkosh Air Show in Wisconsin which made Wisconson the 7th state I've been to which is exactly half of the number of countries I've been too. I would never trade my travels for anything but I've always had this nagging feeling that this is somehow kinda wrong, that I know tthe world better than I know my own country.

Thoughts???

Sorry man I am not there. I think I only have 6 more states to hit before I tally all 50.

I'm sort of there, heck, I have been to more continents than Canadian Provinces infact, I have only been to Ontario and Quebec-and I was born in 1 and moved to the other when I was a child! Infact technically I have been in more US States (although I dont really count Illinois and Pensylvania as I was only changing flights which would mean I have been to 2 States)
I dunno, I do want to see more of Canada but then there is a part of me that says if I am gonna fly hours on a plane I want to be in a new country. Maybe you could do a mini tour-where are you now?

Let's provide some scale here.

Of the 50 U.S. states, you have been to 7. Of the 194 countries of the world, you have been to 14.

So, while you have been to 14% of the U.S. states, you have only visited 7.2% of the countries of the world. These numbers suggest that you know your own country far better than you do the rest of the world. To match your U.S. travel experience would require you to visit an additional 13 countries, boosting your number to 27.

So there’s really only one thing for you to do - get travelling, international style!!

You put more thought into that than I did and it's my life.

And thats just 194 states - a good number of them with arbitrarily drawn borders. If you're counting the possible different regions/nationalities inside each country (ie UK is actually England, Scotland, Wales, and NI) then your international (not State in the intl sense) count is actually probably at a lower %.

I've been to more countries than states but australia only has...6? states. I should know this.... yes 6 states and 2 territories. but I have been to them all so going by lostfarmboy's maths I've been to 100% of australian states and territories and ummm... 16.5% of the world's countries.
I think it's important to get to know your own country but it's totally understandable to want to see the world first. you can visit all the states when you're old and have a big campervan.
I think I've been to 16 US states.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I'm gonna take it up a notch and become the first person to traverse the US in one of those scooter things they give you at grocery store, 2 miles an hour at a time.
