This was taken while in Bosnia in late 2001...I think, it could have been 2002. This was on the Dancon Road March, 30KM (18.6 Miles)
I think something like 100 different countries participated in this. There was something like 300 people there.
This was at the halfway point.
I'm the one on the lower right with ma arms up.

Looks cold there. My old army reserve unit went to Bosnia (this was a good decade after I'd gotten out). They had an awful time, they said. Lots of people were stressed out, and nobody had any fun. When I was in, we'd been to Panama, Honduras and Korea, and always managed to keep our spirits up. They must've missed me!
Hope your time was better...

I actually had a great time there. I got out of the wire a lot more there than I do here in Iraq. The country was absolutely gorgeous, not a bad place to visit. Stayting in/around the Tuzla area is great and not very expensive at all. And I hear the hiking in the fall is great, as long as you stick to certain "approved" routes
But watch out for the winters, it gets kinda cold and the snow runs very deep at times.

Ditto! And it's great that you can at least appreciate these places while you're there anyways...
So, how exactly is Iraq? Give us the street-level POV?
