Morocco's.....seedier aspects?
So there is no easy way to ask this, and I hope people don't immediatly judge me as a dope fiend,
BUT
me and some Uni friends are going to Morocco for charity real soon, we really want to hit up the country when we get there, as a kind of reward, So we got some of the big cities sorted and a desert trail with a night with nomads.
But as marijuana is a fairly big part of it's culture we would like to try and experience it a little, soooo has anyone had experience with it, I know it's illegal there but heard it was poorly enforced.

not marijuana, man, HASH. it's everywhere, at least in the medinas of the bigger cities. you will have plenty of moroccan dudes trying to hustle you anyway so you could just ask one of them or even approach someone if you got a sense of what to look for. chances are the first guy you ask will pull a chunk out of his pocket. smoke it with tobacco but be careful where. also, just my personal rule, but when I break laws I make sure I know what the potential consequences are and decide whether or not to go ahead based on whether I think I can deal with the consequences.
i know you didn't ask but I'll tell you anyway, the whole dessert trek/camel ride/nomad night is a very sterile touristy scene (if you can call waking up with sand in your mouth sterile). Hire a ride out to the cascades d'ouzoud or somewhere else a little more off the beaten path (it's still touristy but much less so) and you'll see something beautiful without the expedition scam.
Have fun
Molly

though molly and I probably have vastly different attitudes about this topic, I strongly agree with one point she makes - consider the consequences before you go breaking the laws. I loved Morocco and would go back in a minute, but I don't think I'd care to do time there.

I've talked with someone who's spent time in jail in Morocco, he said you can get prison just for having a bong, so be careful.
