I've got the dumbest of questions... but it's a question non-the-less... Ok, here it goes: what's the difference between Eurail and Rail Europe? seeing as they have diffeent web sites, it got me wondering...

The Eurail is the name of the elaborate train system throughout Europe. Like saying Amtrak for the U.S.
Rail Europe is the name of the company who runs the largest online website that provides Eurail tickets.

Rail Europe website ships your Eurail Tickets for free. If you go through another site, they might charge for shipping.
(unless you are military and stationed overseas... then they charge a 15 dollar fee to ship to an APO)
