Default Your discoveries of 2008

The year of 2008 has brought about some significant discoveries for me. So, I thought that it might be interesting to see what everyone's great discoveries of 2008 were. Mine are:

5. Tim Horton's Coffee.

4. Winter. I'm from Australia so I'd never experienced anything close to a real winter before. -32 degrees in Calgary the other week was a very interesting experience. But you know, it's not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.

3. Ice Climbing. Well, it's not really a discovery, I've been wanting to ice climb for a while now, but I finally started this winter, and it's everything that I thought it would be.

2. Québécois. Great, friendly, laid back, passionate people who know how to have a good time. Gold!

1. Sushi! I had it for the first time in Vancouver in September. It is now one of my favorite foods. I can't believe that I went so long without it.

So, what are your discoveries for the year of 2008?

Probably that I can do anything I can put my mind too.

that and coffee. I mean I used to somewhat drink it if I was falling asleep at my desk, but now I'm really into it. I love getting up early on a Saturday, hitting the gym, coming home and enjoying coffee and the newspaper...

A fabulous part of Holland and a hidden hostel that was perfect.

Discovering Austin for myself.

Austin is a great place.
I did not really discover it, but I finally got a career in my degree field. Mixed feelings on it, money=good, no free time = hard to travel spontaneously.

This is exactly how Québécois who've been to Australia feel about Australians! So, allow me to return the compliment!
