how much longer is couchsurfing messaging going to be down for? Its been 2 days now. Cant send or recieve...

I'm having some serious trouble with their messaging system too. it's been 3 days for me. it's driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why cant they fix their crappy system??

Yeah, that's a real pain that it's down. I'm not currently traveling, so it doesn't really affect me, but it would suck if you were trying to find a couch and can't do it. One piece of advice is to find the group page for the city you're visiting. Some of them say no couch requests, but others allow them, especially if the messaging is down.

Yeah, you definitely don't want to spam the group board, but especially if the messaging system is down and you explain you're in a tight spot, you should be fine. Worst case scenario, you get scolded by a mod. I know in the Nashville group, people post requests sometimes if they are having a ton of trouble finding a place to sleep. Then again, the Baltimore group says No Requests as one of the rules. If you can, I'd say you still abide by the group rules.
