Default Is this possible?

I have read about people leaving behind everything to just travel the world for an undetermined amount of time with very little money. Like a plane ticket to a location overseas and $2k and a hope and a prayer and meeting people and getting help and a little work along the way.

Think its possible or just a great dream?

Of course it's possible. But you do have to come to terms with the fact that you MIGHT end up living on the streets for a bit...some people aren't cool with that

Kerouac did it.

I think it would be a good idea to know where you want to go and have a few phone numbers of couch-surfing hosts on hand.

if you are not in a hurry and ok with traveling really low to the ground (hitch hiking, trains bikes). Then it could be done.
