Default A new home

Well it has been in the works for awhile, Sandy and I are sick and tired of renting and living in a little tiny two bedroom apartment (with Izzy and his two kids part time, this is NOT a five person apartment!) We decided to go house hunting...AND we found the PERFECT house and we bought it!

The home inspection was last night and is said to be in impeccable shape for a hundred plus year old house. It was built in 1900 and was originally a school house. It has been renovated recently and is move-in ready. Just over 1700 square feet, three bedrooms, a new kitchen and bathroom, living room, den, four season sunroom, a laundry room AND a big garage. Just over half an acre of land, a little fish pond and two perfectly aligned trees to throw up a hammock. It's about five minutes out of town in the country (which is what we wanted, to be away from all the busy aspects of town) The sellers had already purchased a new home and needed to sell quickly so we did get a good price as well.

Closing is on November 21st and we will be moved in by the start of December. Can't wait! Tpunks are always welcome to crash (in the sunroom!)

Yay for you & Sandy (and the rest of the family)!!! Buying a house is an amazing experience. Right after my closing I came over, sat on the floor in the middle of my empty living room & bawled like a little girl!

Here's hoping your new home is filled with love & happiness.

old school house from 1900!! way cool! Sounds awesome. Hope you put some pics up on Facebook. Sounds like an ideal place to raise a family. I'm such a city girl, but if I had kids I think I would very much consider a move to the country.

Haha. I'm not scared of Tpunk stalkers. I already said the sunroom is open for crashers! No one would really feel the need to travel to my neck of the woods though, pretty boring! I will post pics as soon as we move in!~ Promise!

And it's pretty cool that it is an old school house. About a year ago, I told Sandy that I would love to live in a renovated old school house, then we found this place and had NO IDEA that it was orignally that. We only found out after we had already put in an offer, our realtor told us about it's history. So We think it was fate.

And yes, SD, my life is soooo much different than when we first met in Austin. It's pretty crazy when I think about it. No more traveling on a whim, but I wouldn't change it for anything.
