Congrats! I didn't know you were expecting. And a boy, that's great news, a little Tpunk boyfriend for my Izzy!
If Izzy was a boy, we had just one name picked out. We were so sure she was going to be a boy as well, so deciding on a girls name turned out to be a lot harder! We had the name Cohen Tristan picked out.
When are you due?

congratulations joan! that's awesome!
names i'd pick
Boy - Knud (my grandfather's name)
Mateo
Girl - August
Susan
pretty weird or generic, but i thought i'd throw in my two cents.

I'm due February 25
I LOVE the name Mateo, that was one of my first picks - my bf said hell no though. WTF He keeps picking these really American names and I want something with a lil more flavor! ... we'll see.

And yea, I agree, I personally do not like having a boring-azz generic name picked off the same short list. Oh well..

Yay! congratulations!
I have to say I like boring names for boys... William, James, Peter, etc. I think a boy needs a good strong name!
I also love the name Jude though.

oh, and not that i'm not completely stoked about this, but technically, it was unplanned -WORD OF WARNING TO ALL PUNKS ON THE BIRTH CONTROL PILL- it really is only 98.5% effective. I took that thing RELIGIOUSLY, didnt miss any pills, same time every day - and still. so be careful ladies & gents, i suggest using the pill AND the pull-out method. sucks, but better safe than potentially sorry

^ It's crazy eh..How one hot sexy moment can change your life.
Well at least your stoked and have accepted it. I think i would be on the floor rocking back and forth in denial.
As for the name thing yah I hate generic michael, tim, brian etc.. names. I currently know about 10 Tim's so I say change it up a bit!!

Congratulations!! For a boy? I like Dylan, James, Jacob or Micheal. If it were me, I would pick a name that is long and formal but can be shortened which gives the kid leway.

For some reasons, I can't seem to picture your son, "Joan's son", with a well-behaved kinda name... Won't suggest anything though, because my references are from Quebec. I have no clue what sounds good or bad in english, what is in or out in the US, to me all names are pretty much alike.
When I chose my daughter's name, everyone had an opinion about it before she was born. Some positive, some negative. However, once she arrived in the world, everyone accepted her name as it was. Moral: do not let yourself influenced !

I almost completely agree with you Esther, about everyone accepting the name after the baby is here. You are spot on right about everyone having their opinions before the baby gets here though. I had so many people tell me that they hated the names I had on my lists before Izzy was here. It's like they don't think it's insulting to you since the baby isn't actually HERE yet. ANd for the most part, everyone tells me that they like the name NOW that she is here...BUT for one lady, a stranger in the grocery store, who when Izzy was a week old (and I was seriously hormonal and crying all the time) told me that she was going to hate me when she gets older because of the "stupid nickname I've stuck her with!" Needless to say, I burst into tears on the spot.
Don't let others influence you Joan, like Esther said. The name you pick for your baby is all yours and your bf's choice. I hope you find something awesome.
Oh, also, I remembered two other names we liked. Leland and Rowan

Hey congrats!! I thought I always had my future son's name picked out, Weston, but recently that's been changing. I'm hoping that's a sign of maturity
