Ireland has come last in a study of quality of life, according to U-Switch, a British service comparison website.
Despite having one of the highest average income in Europe, it comes bottom in terms of quality of life issues.
Spain and France are at the top of U-Switch's European Quality of Life Index.
People in Ireland and Britain have to pay high prices for fuel, food and other essentials, while having among the shortest holidays, latest retirement age and lowest life expectancy, according to the survey of ten European countries.
Well everyone knew Spain has the best quality of life, any country that gets to take a nap during the middle of the day has to be on the right track.
Hopefully this economic downturn will force some more value into the Irish market but we're always going to suffer being an Island. Britain could be worse off being such a well established economy with such high wages the downturn might not affect them as much maybe meaning the high prices could continue for a long time.
Bad news for tourism in Ireland and England, especially for Ireland as we're more dependant on tourism but people won't come with prices so high and now all the foreigners that came here to work are leaving in droves due to the lack of jobs.
If you are looking for value in Ireland stay at least 100 miles away from Dublin. Dublin itself is expensive but anything within 100 miles of it is considered a suburb and there full of dubs that seem to like paying stupidly high prices just to show off how much money they have.

Sorry to hear that for the residents of Ireland and UK, but I don't think it will affect tourism as travelers are coming in and out pretty quickly, for the most part.
As far as Spain and France, I can personally verify that .
