cheaper to fly or drive?
Hey USA folks...
I have to get back to Columbus for orientation at OSU on 11 Aug, so I am just flying out the weekend. (like Sat-Mon or Sat-Tue...hint hint for a Cbus meetup???? ), and I was wondering...
I found a flight for $196. Would that be cheaper than driving????
It takes me a tank and a quarter to get from Bragg to Cbus. That's leaving it on empty. So let's say 1 tank of gas is $65 (as an estimate).... 2.5 tanks is $182, plus I'll be driving around Cbus more if I have a car so throw some more into that. But then comes the issue of how do I get to OSU? I am unable to rent a car... I'm sure cab fare can't be that terrible or I will stay with friends and I know I can catch a ride or borrow a car.
Anyway, opinions much appreciated!

If you're staying at your Aunt's, cab fare to/from campus might be a little high (not sure about cab fare here in Columbus though). If you're staying with friends on/near campus then I'd say you should be pretty good to go without a car. Pretty much anything you could want/need is nearby.
That's a nice airfare by the way. Especially getting close to last minute.
Whichever way you choose, let us know when you get here! Maybe we can force Jamie to come out & visit with us too.

^ yeah I have my friend Amanda who lives close and my friend Jeremy who lives close too to campus so that won't be an issue.

have you looked into buses? That could be the cheapest option....
I wouldn't dream of driving all the way to my boyfriend's in NJ, I bus it all the way. (And it's more environmentally friendly)
