Switzerland: What do you need to get in?

I'm going to be going through Switzerland for about 6 days and my friend was telling me you needed a visa to enter the country. Is this true?

I read that you only need a visa if you stay for 3 months, and then I read somewhere else you need a visa regardless. So i'm confused.

I'm guessing you're Canadian from your location. If this is true then you don't need a visa.
