Default Jackson Hole for the winter

hey guys, just thought id let you know that im moving from salt lake city up to Jackson Hole, WY for the winter season. since im not going to school right now, ive decided to live a ski-bum's life. ive got family up there so ill be living rent-free and working at the resort, so im planning to ride the powder as much as i can. ill have passes and discounts and stuff, and i love riding with other people, so if any of you come around we can go hit the mountain and the town together or something. Those of you who've been to Jackson Hole before know how awesome it is, and those who havent been are in for a treat!

Ahh, I'd love to live the ski bum life for a while! So many of my friends have done ski seasons in various European resorts, and I'm massively jealous. Have a wicked time man!!

Awesome...I've always wanted to try out Jackson Hole. Some friends and I are planning on going to SLC for a week next year, maybe around end of feb or beginning of march. What ski areas would you suggest?

Sounds awesome, I'm all for living the sport-bum's lifestyle haha I'm hoping to do the same with surfing when I'm in south africa for a month or 2. Have fun!!

Just out of curiosity what are you taking the year off for?

I'm not athletic enough to actually live the ski bum life, however I do think I could see myself relaxing by a roaring fire, sipping hot chocolate in some fancy ski chalet...

It depends. There are 6 world-class mountains right in the vicinity.

Snowbird - My favorite mountain. It has awesome terrain and fantastic powder runs, and a few different terrain parks. Snowbird is really fun if you can beat the crowds as it does get crowded by about noon every day of the week.

Alta - Skiers only, no snowboards allowed. ive never actually been cause i snowboard, but from what i hear its also pretty good.

Solitude - Only been there once, but i really enjoyed it. It is probably the least crowded Utah resort I have ever experienced.

Brighton - A really good mountain for snowboarders, lots of fun. They also have nightskiing from about 4-9pm so you can get an all-day pass and hit the lifts from 9am to 9pm. (If you can last 12 hours, anyway)

Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons, and Deer Valley are all in Park City, about 20 mins from Salt Lake. I dont have much experience in any of these but I'll tell you what I know. Park City is awesome, I did a half-day there (Shaun White was doing a demo), The Canyons always seems to have some fierce wind blowing so it can get kind of annoying. And Deer Valley is another stupid "skiers only" resort.

good luck, hope some of this helped.

also, almost all the resorts have an average yearly snowfall of about 500 inches (12.7m)
