adventure trecking with no guide
Hi
I wanted to know if anyone here has ever done a 7-14 day trek with no guide. Just living off the land and whatnot. My fiends and I, who have all done guided stuff before, want to try it. I am not sure where yet so suggestions would be great. I know of some good spots abroad but since its the first time without a guide maybe we should stick to where english is spoken.
So any ideas of where to go???
thanks

I know there's a lot of adventure trekking in Nepal, but prolly not a good idea without a guide at first. If you wanna try something solo, there's some good spots in the states... Utah, Colorado, etc.
there's a lot of great magazines with ideas for that sort of thing. Try the Backpacking magazine or National Geographic's Adventure or Traveler mags also. If they're not at a local grocery store or newsstand, try a Borders or Barns and Noble, they will have the mags there. They offer trip ideas, detailed trail maps, and gives ideas for different trekking levels.
hops this helps!

I think you could do it. Just don't over do it. Start small work your way up.
