Scotland Tour opinions please
Can you guys take a look at this for me:
http://www.wild-in-scotland.com/6dmonstercastle.php
Being that done England pretty extensivly and Ive been to Ireland a few times, I wanted to do something different for my first 10 days that Im in the UK, before heading to the mainland (Ive never done Scotland). Also, I have concerns about exchange rate and being in the UK for so long. If i booked something like this, most of everything is paid for so i can payfor it now..
The only problem is that I arrive in London the morning before this leaves...so ill have to get to Edinburgh by the next morning... AND still get over my jet lag... any adivce on that part as well? Train? Fly instead?
Any thoughts?

That looks cool. I did a tour with MacBackpackers, and it was really excellent. Some people don't like doing tours, but you get to see and do way more than you could on your own (in that amount of time).
For jet lag, especially if you don't have a lot of time to recover, try to deal with it before you leave. Set your watch to London time, and force yourself to go to sleep/wake up a couple of days in advance on that schedule. Medicate yourself if you have to. Even if you don't do that: once you get there, force yourself to stay up to a reasonable time the first night. If you can do that, you're money. If you crash in the afternoon you're screwed, and it takes an extra day or two to catch up.

I have no experience with Scotland and am only commenting to say a) that sounds awesome and b) go try to see the Loch Ness monster! it's my dream! I watched a documentary on it once and have wanted to go ever since. haha

This seems like the poop to me... u get the loch ness , AND you get to sleep ina castle...
...plus it SEEMS to be made for more active back packers, and its only about 12 people a trip...
I dont know if the jet lag thing will be TOO much of an issue... I worked it so im on the over night flight into Heathrow at 10:10 AM ...so as long as I knock my butt out on the flight, I should be rock starred. I do however, have to get to Kings Cross Station , and get to Edinburgh right away...since the tours the next morning...

Hey dude, you need to be flying to Edinburgh, it is by far the best way to get there, and it's not even that expensive. Is it January you're going?
For around £30 you can fly from Heathrow to Edinburgh (that's one way). It takes maybe an hour and a half. BMI have flights at around 12:45 and 14:10, so you could just head off straight from Heathrow once you arrive. Check out www.flybmi.com

yeah I checked the fly thing, which was a little more pricey then taking a train from Kings Crossing... which takes 4 hours... I just dont know how far out of town the airport in Edin is.. if its going to be 10 quid for me just to get to the my hostel from there... might as well take the train...
...like i said though, Im not familiar with Scotland at all/.

Where did you find the price for the train? I checked train prices when I was looking up flights, and January time, all I was finding was about £90!!!
I must say, it certainly could cost you a tenner to get into the city from the airport - if you're getting a taxi. A bus costs £3 (one way) or a shuttle bus to anywhere in the city centre is £8.
