Welllllllll, as an update from my uber dilemma of my life (see the thread about my needing advice), I have recieved credit reviews from all the schools who accepted me..... and decided I would take a mature approach to my big decision as to where to move and go to school next fall and go with whoever accepted the most credits, since it would help my academic status (and I can register earlier than the underclassmen, so I get first dibs on the 100/200 levels that close up within 5 minutes of registration!) and the winner is in......I am going back home to Ohio!

I think worldwidemike and Brooke can appreciate this more than anyone else... I will be starting next fall at the AMAZING Ohio State University as an anthropology and pre-medicine major (weird yes, but I won't bore you all with my research interests such as paleopathology and the evolution of disease...

), and in case you were wondering, also home of the best damn college football team in the land.

At first I thought I didn't want to go back to Ohio, and a new place like Seattle or DC or going back to Chicago had it's appeals, but it will be great to get on back home after being in Afghanistan for 18 months, and there are a lot of job opporunities at the hospitals out there. Also, it will be a much better cost of living as far as rent goes so I can live in a nicer place AND still have lots of spending money. So me, I am SUPER stoked at the moment. We well have to have a c-bus TP meetup when I finally get up there for good.

So if you live in Columbus, keep you eyes peeled for a sweet apartment for me downtown, preferrably in the vicinity of the univeristy. I've been checking craigslist but if you know of anywhere else to search, let me know.

. Also, as an OSU (Hospital) employee, let me welcome you as well. I'm sure WWM will be VERY happy to hear you're coming home to his Alma Mater.

Congrats! It's the best school in the country. But do make sure you put "The" in front of Ohio State University

I'm out in Arizona now and missing OSU like CRAZY!!!!!

As far as apartments...if you don't want anything too spectacular, Stadium View is where I used to live...its like 485 for a 1 bedroom. University Village is decent as well ( a little further but has a shuttle)

If you're looking to spend more and live lavishly, the apartments in the new South Campus Gateway are NICE!

hell yes! I will be in the vicinity in April sometime and then be moving there for GOOOD by August, so I am sure we can arrange a little celebration. Ahhh it will be good to get back there indeed. And tailgate for OSU games!!

tailgating is THE best. shoot. cold brew, good food, corn hole, a million random people walking around. And it'sbest when it's ass cold outside and everyone is budled up and putting like baileys in their hot chocolate and stuff... or maybe that's just us hahaha. I tailgated at an NC state game once where I went with a friend and his sister and had a blast even when I didn't know a soul besides my friend and his sister. Tailgating should be a sport in itself.

I already have my game ticket and my flight to Detroit in preparation for November 17!

And no I will not be cheering for OSU!

Congrats on your decision though Nicole, I'm sure it'll be a nice change of pace to get back in school!

Congrats on settling on a school!!! You got the boards whipped up in a frenzy of support while you were choosing, you know. I wasn't even that excited about my own college choices.

if you're a penn state fan, however, I am a bit as well because a guy I graduated with from high school plays football at penn state -- he's a senior
