Phones Cards in europe

I am only going to Western Europe this summmer for 2 months.

Can anyone recommend a good telephone calling card and also where to get it from? Ie in UK before I go, or when I am there abroad?

PS- my first stop in Barcelona and Madrid.

You can buy phone cards when you are over there for pretty cheap. Some start at 3 euro's and up. When you buy a phone card in one country it normally only works in that country. So if your in Spain and you buy a card and then try to use it in France it probably won't work.

make sure the people you are calling dont have your calls blocked

i spent 10 euros on a phone card in dublin only to find out it wouldnt work calling my house

right now im just talking thru IMs and skype if the internet cafe has it

If i am going to may countries in europe is there no way to get one single universal calling card to make calls?
