Northwest Airlines & Contiki
I just booked a flight with Northwest Airlines through Contiki Tours. Any feedback on either? I've never flown Northwest and have no idea what to expect. It's not too late to change airlines so if you have any comments - let me have em!!

you should be good. in terms of service, northwest is comparable to most other american domestic carriers. not sure how their international service is but they have had a longstanding (about 20 years) relationship with klm the dutch flag carrier so they can't be that bad. if you want to check out their inflight service, their website is www.nwa.com

Northwest and AirFrance/KLM are night and day.
What's your flight itinerary?
It helps to know backup flights that they could rebook you on if there is a problem such as a delay or cancellation. I fly Northwest "internationally" between the US and Canada, but that's the same product as flying domestically. I don't know how they are in economy flying to Europe or Asia.

I lurve KLM, but can't comment on overseas with NWA. I swear, I was fed every ten seconds on my return flight from Europe to the US with KLM. A spectacular Dutch woman, an angel if you will, walked around during the last hour of the flight, I kid you not, with a burrito in hand saying, "Hey, there's an extra burrito, anyone interested?"

KLM is the only airline to have lost my luggage, twice (out of a total of two journeys) through Schiphol airport connections with NW airlines. Shit happens though.

Oooh, they lost my bag too! Dunno if they dropped the ball in Paris or Amsterdam...but that was also 1/4 flights with them. Hmm, maybe I've got burrito-blindness and I'm too obsessed with their food service to give an honest assessment.

Hrm.. these are questions I would ask before booking next time :D
Depending on your route, it could well be a KLM flight, which is cool - My mom flies KLM via Amsterdam a few times a year and loves them. She got stuck with a Northwest-run leg once and didn't care much for it. Personally, I don't fly them because I hate domestic airlines and only take the ones that'll give me enough miles to make 'em tolerable, but that's a whole 'nother ball of wax.

LOL! I keep my eyes peeled for the extra burrito!! I was planning on just taking a pack and bringing it on with me - not sure if it'll fit but I don't want to lose my luggage either!

Contiki booked the flights for me, but I can still cancel and book my own. I'm not travelling till Sept... They just happen to also be the least expensive I've seen so far...

In would much rather fly a US airline (united rock!) than a UK company (boo hiss BA). The only company that would be an except ion virgin but they are very hit and miss these days...
