Eagle Creek cable lock
I have read about using a bicycle lock to lock up your pack and such, and I can not find where again, but saw this by Eagle Creek recommended http://www.eaglecreek.com/accessorie...d-Cable-41028/.
If anybody can tell from the pics, or has handled this; does this not seem like something that can be cut with a leatherman (multi-tool) pliers?
I picked on up, but it just seems quite flimsy?
Cheers,
Matt

Yeah that's what I've got. A set of pliers would cut through it easily.
I think it's more aimed at discouraging the oppurtunistic, snatch and grab style thief. I'd still recommend you get one because it is probably enough to convince the thief to steal someone elses pack instead.

I agree, my chain is strictly there to deter. Always hoping that chaining it to the bed frame will do it and that no one has anything to cut it with. If someone wants your pack bad enough, theres really not much you can do.

I think that's the thing to remember. I mean, the packs themselves are made from like fabric basically. It is easy enough to just plain slash it open and take whatever you want. So if you worried about being able to cut through it, remember, its not there to protect really, just there to deter.
