Budget Calculator
So a while back I came across a site.... www.tavelindependent.info
It actually has a ton of good info about backpacking, what to do before you go,etc. I'm sure some of it is a little out of date, but most things still apply.
Anyways on one of the budgeting topics theres a link to a budget calculator. I'm currently setting up everything for a round the world trip and have a set budget that I'm on pace with for this fall. So I tried the budget calculator and it actually came out very close to my est after my own research. If anyone gets a chance maybe check out this link and give it a try.....I'm curious to see if its close for other people. http://savingfortravel.com/round-the...tor-step-2.php
It's all relative, and fairly general but I thought we should test it out and see if its credible.
Peace.

hey i checked out the site and i thought it was great. gave me a confidence boost ahaha. i am planning a trip around europe. want to go pretty much everywhere and was freaking about the cost but after trying that it put my mind at ease i was planning on saving about 12000 and it suggested 8000 so i think im in the right ball park concdering it notes that it doesnt include partying and extensive transport. so yeah i thought it was really good. it is a good way for people who are just begining to budget to get a basic idea of costs and work on it from there.

I tried it out, and flipped out at the price until I realized a second later that it included a RTW ticket.
Otherwise, I guess it tallied up pretty well with my (very rough) estimates for 2 months in Central America...which still means that I'm going to be a good bit poorer after this summer. Heh.

I thought it was funny, I will be in Greece for 2 weeks and in Amsterdam for 2 weeks, and the budget amount for Amsterdam was 420 euro. Hee Hee But I also thought the quote was a bit low, and I travel cheap. STILL love the 420 quote though!!!!
