Default Newsletter- Stories Participation (for ebook/printed book)

For those who don not receive the newsletter, here is one that I sent out yesterday.
---------------------------------------

Whats hap'n TPunks?!

I just wanted to drop a request for all of you newsletter subscribers that I believe will be mutually beneficial for both of us.

We will be adding some ebooks in the future that will help people prepare for their backpacking trips. These books will be for sale and hopefully can generate enough funds to actually print hard copies for sale at your local book store.

If anyone is interested in submitting travel stories, exclusive tips and advice, an inspirational message, or anything you feel is extremely valuable for travelers wanting to take the plunge, please feel free to submit your story.

What we're really looking for are life altering stories or something super inspirational that explains why someone should take their own trip. Your story should be engaging, riveting, and life altering.

As if you were trying to convince your brother or sister or very best friend why they should go backpacking and how traveling changed your life. How it opened up your eyes. And how it was a serious wake up call for you. How you met your significant other on your trip. How you changed the way you see things. How you quit the job you never liked and found something better. Or, how traveling changed the way you saw your job and now you love it! How you changed the world. Etc....I think you get the picture!

As compensation for the people that submit their stories or tips that actually make it in the ebook, you will receive a free copy of the ebook. If it ever makes it to a hard copy print edition, you will also receive a free copy of the printed book.

This will be a win/win situation. I receive your life altering stories or valuable tips to share with others (and, of course, your name will be shown as the author of that story/tip), and you will receive a copy of an ebook for free, loaded with tips and stories as well as your own story published on a respected brand!

And hopefully, as I mentioned, if demand is high, this will go into a print edition and you will receive a free hard copy book with your published story to show off to all of your friends and family! It would look great on your future resume too!

If your tip or story doesn't make it in the first ebook, we'll try to include it into a follow up one.

This an excellent opportunity for you aspiring writers and journalists. Sieze the moment!

You can write your story on a Word Document and send it to me at -

feedback@travelpunk.com

I look forward to receiving your great stories!

Warm wishes,

Tony P.

I should write something...I just wish I wasn't so crazy busy at the moment!

I feel like my experiences aren't as crazy-riveting and massively life-changing though...more so smaller but poignant, like some of the stuff I've posted in the travel stories section.

I'm sure you got something

Many of you can probably copy a story from your own blog or old emails, paste it into a Word doc, and edit it to be life altering or at least something thats helps inspire others .

Just remember that those of you with personal sites (links to your sites will go into the ebook and, if in hard print, your sites will be mentioned in the book) or future aspirations of becoming a writer, this is a great opportunity to have something published.

Hey everyone, for further clarification on the copyright issue.

Everyone that submits a story is allowing me to print your their stories in my ebook or hard copy book, royalty free.

In exchange, all authors will get credit for their story(ies) as well as a link or advertisement for their "book/website." Consider it a press release for your future book. If people like your story in my book, they will want to read more from you or visit your website!

For example, let's say you have a future book that you know you will write (maybe an ebook first, that you will sell) and you will have a website for that book, for example- www. BackpackingMyASS-teroidOff.com)

Submit a story to me and this is how it will apprear in the book-

"How I Changed the Way I See Life Through My First Backpcking Trip"

By Tony P

"Story, story, story......
story, story, story,
story, story, story,....blah, blah, blah...

Ending..."So, that's how my first trip changed my whole perspective on life. Get out there and do it too!"

Tony P is the Godfather. Fuggedaboutit. He is a future Oscar Winner and helps build water filtration systems to provide clean drinking water to small villages in third world countries. You can view more of Tony's stories at- www. BackpackingMyASS-teroidOff.com (a link in the ebook will lead them to your site with your book for sale).

So, you are the the author of the story. It is copyrighted by you. You get the credit in the book.
Submitting your stories will allow me to reprint the story royalty free as long as I give you the credit and give your website/book/whatever a "plug."

It is basically free advertising for you. Rather than you buying ad placement in my books, I will plug it for you if you submit a story.

Imagine 20 years from now, travelers turn 18 and buy the Tpunk book(s). Ebook or hard copy, your product/website is still being plugged!

ebooks will be circulating from friend to friend throughout the years to come and same thing, your site is plugged and all they have to do is click the link in the ebook and it will take them to your site.

Does this make sense?

If anyone has questions, please post them!

Thanks!
