Default Ahhhh!!!

;sfodvmshvnlkjhmvlkashmvlskjhm;h

I GOT MY LICENSE!!!!!

It's so weird.

I was convinced I was going to fail. Especially when my friends (who I thought of as good drivers) were telling me how many times they had to take it to pass. And then my friends Dustin said, "Don't worry Julia; you'll pass.... the second time." :nervous:

Okay. Let me actually tell the story.

My dad picked me up from school, and I'm say "Off to Hagerstown!" and he goes "WHAT?! You told me it was in Germantown!" (the difference, by the way, is about 45 minutes; it was about 70 miles from my house).

So we're rushing to get to Hagerstown, and we get there twenty minutes late ( ) only to figure out that my 1:30 appt. was actually for Harrisberg or Hagenburg or Garrisberg or SOMETHING. Basically, the place my dad called Germantown.

And I made a fool of myself and said "Well I knew there was a 'berg' in there somewhere!" and she said "Honey, where's the 'berg' in Hagerstown?"

And I start laughing maniacally, because my dad had to cancel plans he had made for after the test because of the confusion. But the lady was nice and said, "We don't do this normally, but we're really slow today." And she let me take the test without an appt.

^me worshipping amazing afro wearing woman who saved my life.

Ten minutes later, I'm waiting in the car for the proctor, and Afro woman comes into the car It was just amazing.

I managed to do the parallel parking even though I had only ever done it like... three times So it was basically all one big miracle.

When I got home, I drove my sister and her friend to McDonalds and FINALLY got to listen to my music as loud as I wanted it

So be careful, world! You have one more irresponsible, law breaking teenager on the loose (yeah right, I'm a damn good driver!).

Congrats, Julia. I remember when I got my license. It was one month after I turned 16 because I failed the parallel parking on the first try... :D

So i guess I should be staying off the sidewalks now?

Yeah during my drivers test the State cop who did my test was being kind of a jerk. After about a 27 point turn he goes "You play football? I told him I did in middle school then got kicked out after a game or two. He goes "Oh, well, it seems to me like you've taken a lot of hits to the head."

I was thinking to myself "Oh yeah bastard? You want to get funny?" So I ask him "Do you know so and so" he tells me yes, he runs the Barracks I am out of. Then I ask him is he knows another so and so. He tells me yes, he is another of the higher ups in his barracks. He asks me how I know them. I tell him one of them is my uncle and the other is a old friend of my fathers who I do some computer work for on the side at his house all the time etc. He stared straight ahead real awkward and I followed it up with, "I don't think they would say talking to us like that is the way to go about things." He then just muttered "Take us back" and whaddya know, I passed and got my licence.

Haha. That's beautiful.

Wrong.

But beautiful.

Thanks With all this snow, though, I don't think I'm going to be driving anytime soon... It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make... So long as we don't have school.

Gotta love those connections eh, SuDZ?

And congrats Julia! :D

I haven't driven in AGES, since I don't have a US car/license and haven't been spending much time at home. I think I'm incapable of parking at this point in time.

When I took my driver's license exam, my dad had to ride in the back seat because he was the owner of the car. At the end of the exam, the state trooper said, "you past the test." My father shouted from the back seat, "WHAT!" He couldn't believe I got my license after my first exam because I had slightly missed the markers when I backed up into the parking spot at the DMV. Tough having a retired Navy air boss as a dad at times.
