I'm going to be a nurse!!!
I'm so excited, I got an offer back from one of the universities I applied for, and I accepted the offer today.
So, in April, I will be moving up to Birmingham, and I'll start training for two years to become a mental health nurse.
Actually, I'm shitting myself, truth be told. I suddenly thought about the sorts of people/problems I'm going to be dealing with, and I got all panicky. But then I remembered that it's something I'm really passionate about, and all will be good in the end!
So anyway, I was supposed to have another interview at a different uni in February, but decided that because I liked Birmingham so much (and the course starts 5 months earlier), I'd rather just go there.
I can't believe I'm actually going to uni again. It's weird. I did a 3 year degree, and after that, I thought "oh dear god, why did I do that?! Never again!" and now, I'm really REALLY looking forward to doing it all again, but a bit apprehensive. For eg, I'm worried about having to make friends all over again, which is a bit silly, but still!
Ok, I rambled a bit at the end there. The main point is: I'm going to be a nurse! Hoorah!

yay! that's really cool!
I can understand your apprehension about starting uni again, all through high school I had no interest in going to uni (I couldn't imagine being commited to be doing the same thing and living in the same place for three or more years!) now suddenly in the last two months I've decided that I do want to go and here I am waiting to start a FOUR YEAR course! every so often I'm like, shit, four years? but hey it'll be fun and you'll have heaps of fun too. good luck with it!

Congratulations!
All the best with the course, and I hope you find it fulfilling...I think it's a great vocation to be able to reach out to people and am considering doing a Primary Health Care school once I graduate. Let us know how things go!
Oh, speaking of mental health...I'm supposed to be volunteering with a group of kids with psychological disorders this semester, and it will be interesting to see how that goes! I'm a little nervous!

Congratulations!!!
That is so good that you get to do what you really want to do... sometimes it's quite hard discovering what that thing is (at least for me).
I'm really happy for ya!

Congrats! :D Sometimes it's hard to make a major decision like that, but if it's something you really want to do, then it's definitely worth it!
All the best with your studies.

You have no idea how upset I was when I found out that mental health nurses DON'T GET A UNIFORM!!!! Seriously, I considered changing to general nursing, just so I'd get the uniform.
