traveling from Berlin to Amsterdam
I'm flying into Frankfurt in May and would like to check out Berlin and Amsterdam for 3 days each before heading to Malta for a week. Whats the best way to get from Berlin to Amsterdam by rail? We'd like to travel by rail because we'd like to see more of the countryside since neither myself or my GF have been to Europe before.
Also, if anyone has a recommendation on what car rental company to use at Luqa Int'l airport I'd appreciate it.

Berlin to Amsterdam is a long haul. But if you want you can do it during the day. I did it at night to save on accommodation and time. I went direct from Berlin to Brussels then Brussels to Amsterdam. I can say that if you go overnight train from Berlin to Brussels and then onward to Amsterdam you see some pretty neat countryside during the 3-hour ride (Brussels-Amsterdam).
Hope this helps.

Yeah, thanks for the advice. We decided to just fly and do the train trip next time to save us some time. Actually, it's cheaper to fly than to take the rail as well.

BTW if you don't mind, how much were your tickets (international), and on what airline?

I booked a flight from St Louis to Frankfurt that connects in Chicago for just over $600. The flights are in May.

Thanks for the information. I have been scouting plane tickets for the same month and roughly same location.
